Bramley res 2
Grangefield 1

Ross Keighley (1)

As seems to be the norm when these two teams meet neither team was on top form in a game that was more of a physical battle rather than good passing football which seemed to suit Bramley more than the away side.

Bramley caught Grangey asleep early on and scored within 5 minutes of kick off after having the majority of the early play and creating a few half chances. As the half went on Grangey got more into the game and created a couple of chances for themselves the most notable ended with the ball in the back of the net but was ruled out when the ref judged the ball had gone out of play as Ross took on the Bramley defender on the byline. Not much complaint from the Grangey lads.

First half to Bramley 1 - 0 half time.

Half time and Addy made a swtich in tactics, shuffling the team around which seemed to work as Grangey started playing more of the football they're accustomed to than they did in the first half but again only creating a hand full of half chances. Bramley struggled to create anything in the early part of this half though.

With 20 minutes to go Grangey finally made a break through when Oz passed a short freekick to Ross who seemed to run himself into trouble, but surrounded by defenders he came out with the ball on the edge of the box, spotted a gap and hit a low hard shot in past the bottom right side of the Bramley keeper. 1-1

The game then became more open as both teams looked for a winner and there were as many chances created by both teams in the last ten minutes as there had been all game. The decisive chance came when a ball was played into the feet of the big Bramley sub upfront who with Grangey looking in good shape at the back managed to turn and put himself through on goal and put a low shot down to Addys right and into the bottom corner.

One last push from Grangey meant a chance falling to Pouchy fresh off the bench who hammered a shot in from the right forcing a good strong handed save from the Bramley keeper.

2 - 1 the game finished.

Grangey disappointed not to get anything out of todays game but can only blame ourselves as we know we can play better.
