After two losses in a row the Grangefield lads should have been well up for it against a team we didn't know too much about however, the game started with what seemed to be 22 lethargic players on the pitch.

Early play was all in the Spurs half with the ball spending most of the time down the left wing where Si was creating some good moves and linking well with oz and Tommo in the middle.

The deadlock was broken after Dacre showed good awareness and didn't give up on would could have been a lost cause, after poking a loose ball away from the keeper he was brought down for a clear cut penalty which Andy 'the pigeon catcher' Thorpe made no mistake with. 1 - 0

The early lead didn't help the lackadaisical attitude of the Grangey lads and Spurs started getting more into the game and with a couple of break away attacks went 2 - 1 up which finally woke us up!

The equaliser came from a great bit of play by Dacre who lofted a ball in from the left which hung in the air and was missed by both the Spurs keeper and the left back so time for a bit of show boating from the grangey winger Peo who put the ball away with his right eye socket, some 'original' finishing we'll call it!

Grangey then continued to punch holes in the Spurs defence with Tommo creating some great play from the middle. Just before half time after Grangey had got round the back of the Spurs defence on a number of occasions Oz played a neat ball through to Peo who poked the ball under the keeper to make it 3-2 at the break.

In the second half Doug, Tetley, Brucey and Chris Wilko kept things tight at the back meaning Ste Wilko didn't have much to do but was as consistent as ever when called on and showed great distribution all day.

Simon continued to create a lot of the play from the left in the second half and the next goal came from that side. With a shot which the keeper parried to the on coming Peo who completed his 'imperfect' hatrick

Spurs created some good play after this and have some good players but it did turn into the Thorpey show after the majority of the play was still in the Spurs half a number of chances came his way after some great movement up front. Three of the chances were superbly put away to make it 4 for him on the day showing what a predatory finisher he is.

We played well enough today as the result shows however we weren't at our usual fast pace which I'm sure will be back next week. A mention to the ref too who had a good game and got the majority of the decisions right from where I was standing

Let's get as many faces as we can at training this week chaps!
