The game started with the opposition looking like a good side so we knew we'd be in for a game and we had to make the advantage of the slope count in the first half.

Grangefield had the advantage of new signing Luke in the middle of the park and he was linking up play well and getting at the Ellandians defence whenever he got chance. It was one of these chances that brought the breakthrough in the game, with their defenders backing off Luke hit a shot from the edge of the box. Screamer - 1-0.

Anything Luke can do Daz can do as well and when the ball fell to him on the edge of the box he hit a left footed shot which curled round the diving keeper and into the top corner. 2-0 at half time.

We knew the opposition would come out fighting but it was them fighting at half time we didn't expect!

The other team did start off fairly well again but we quickly got back into our stride and Stef held the ball up and played Peo in up the left, with Doug spare in the middle a square ball was played and Doug slotted home.

The final goal came when Luke went on another mazey run and from the right hand side slotted the ball to the keepers bottom left corner after taking on two or three men.

Luke picked up the refs MoM and deserved it but there were good performances all around - Lee came off his line well all day and swept up any danger, everyone else worked hard and had the quality when it counted even if it did take some of us a while to get into it  (Peo and Stef) ;)

All in all probably our best performance of the season (so far) and with only four games left we need to make sure we enjoy them all and the performances will come
